Update on the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP)

Received on October 15, 2024 from Ontario Power Generation (OPG). On October 2, the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) held the first of a two-part public hearing to consider OPG’s Licence to Construct (LTC) application. A LTC is the next phase of the regulatory process for a new nuclear power plant in Canada and would allow for construction activities on the first of four Small Modular Reactors (SMR) planned at The Darlington New Nuclear site to begin. Received on October 31, 2024 from Eileen Clark, Associate, Hardy Stevenson and Associates. The DNGS Community Advisory Council is seeking to participate in the CNSC public hearing on January 8, 2025, in support of the DNNP's Application for a Power Reactor Construction License. A list of Community Advisory Council members and Terms of Reference were also provided.
